FAQ

How does Restylane® work?

The HA gel is injected into a specific treatment area to add temporary volume, smooth lines, or enhance facial contours.

Results are usually visible immediately after treatment. The final appearance becomes clearer after temporary swelling and redness settle.

Longevity depends on the formulation, treatment area, amount used, metabolism, and individual response. Depending on the product, results may last from approximately six months to 18 months.

Patients may feel mild pressure, pinching, or discomfort during the injections. Lidocaine-containing formulations and topical numbing may help improve comfort.

Downtime is usually minimal. Temporary swelling, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching, or small lumps may occur around the injection area.

Depending on the selected formulation, it may be used for the lips, cheeks, chin, smile lines, marionette lines, temples, under-eye hollows, and backs of the hands.

It may be suitable for adults seeking temporary correction of facial volume loss, wrinkles, folds, hollow areas, or facial contours. A medical consultation is required to determine suitability.

The amount required depends on the treatment area, existing volume loss, chosen product, and desired result. Some patients may require a touch-up or maintenance session.

Yes, but the treatment sequence and timing must be determined by a qualified medical professional, particularly when combining fillers with lasers, chemical peels, or other procedures.

Because Restylane® is an HA-based filler, a qualified healthcare professional may use hyaluronidase to dissolve it when medically appropriate. Complete or immediate reversal is not guaranteed.

It may not be appropriate for people with certain severe allergies, bleeding disorders, active infection or inflammation at the treatment site, or an allergy to lidocaine in products that contain it. Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established.

Restylane has established clinical safety and effectiveness when appropriately selected and administered by trained medical professionals. However, dermal fillers carry potential risks, including infection and rare but serious complications if accidentally injected into a blood vessel.
